I’m “Mama Foote”, a raft guide/ski bum turned teacher & then realtor & mom. I inherited a love of learning & keen sense of adventure from my dad along with a hefty dose of precaution & need to have things planned out from my mom. The two together make me the planner, worrier & sometimes instigator of new things for our family.
I met my husband, “Papa Foote” in 7th grade & after a few games of wall ball and running bases fell madly in love. While at heart we are wildly different people, we share a love of the outdoors, travel, learning, quirky hobbies & family. The past few years have been hard ones for us. We lost all four of our parents in quick succession & our dog. We had moved back home so that we & our children could be close to the grandparents & we are so grateful to have had them in our lives as intensely as we did – the good times and the hard ones. Losing them all made us rethink our priorities, revisit past hopes and dreams and make some changes. We decided it was time to do what we had always hoped would be possible – to travel with our own children and try a different way of ‘learning’.
