Paris

Bon Jour! My family and I stayed in Paris for a few days. We got here on the train from London to Paris, otherwise known as the ‘Chunnel’ because it goes under the English Channel. While we were there we did some of the most famous touristy destinations like the Eiffel Tower, the Louvre & the Musee D’Orsay. While we were in the Eiffel Tower me, my dad & Tulip went to the very top and got an amazing view. If you didn’t know, the major language in Paris is French, but many people also speak English.

When we went to the Louvre and the Musee D’Orsay museums I noticed a lot of differences. For starters, the Louvre’s paintings were a lot more formal and realistic looking. They were also mostly about religion or battles or were portraits of royalty. In the Musee D’Orsay, the paintings looked different. They were not picture perfect they tried to blur the paints and leave the painting looking dreamy. In the Louvre the statues were from Greece and were perfect replicas of the human shape in marble. In the Musee D’Orsay the statues were bronze with clear lines of where they were put together and had add-ons like real shoes or clothes made of different material.

One thing you might already know about Paris is that food is one of their top priorities. All over the streets of Paris there are little cafes full of people who are there to work, people watch, or just to eat food.

When we were there we had a goal of two crepes a day. I am proud to be one of the ones who kept to up their goal! Another thing that I tried and really liked in Paris were macaroons. My favorite flavor of macaroon that I tried was rose petal with orange zest. Yum! I also tried escargot which was not as bad as I thought. It was slimy and chewy and tasted like crab. I also ate a lot of gelato. I hope one day I can go back to Paris.
