My London

My family and I spent the last four days in London. A big thing in London is breakfast. Traditionally, you would have baked beans, eggs, sausage, grilled tomatoes, and a lot of different cheeses. Some other big things in London are fish and chips and tea. Teatime is almost considered a meal here. Teatime has a lot of finger food like little sandwiches, pastries, and an amazing assortment of tea, from lavender and chamomile to earl grey and English breakfast.

My three most memorable dishes were all of the gelato we ate. My favorite flavor was strawberry but I also liked the lemon. My second favorite dish was “tea.” There was cucumber, walnut, chicken and tomato finger sandwiches. Tea also included raisin and plain scones with homemade jam and some mini desserts to top it off. I chose from seventy five different kinds of tea. My third and final dish that I enjoyed was fish and chips. You normally eat it with tartar sauce and malt vinegar.

Some of my favorite things that we did in London were Stonehenge, a play called “Everybody’s Talking About Jamie,” and the Roman Baths. Stonehenge is a collection of incredibly old rocks put together to form a circle-type pattern. Next, “Everyone’s Talking About Jamie” is about a teenage boy who wants to become a drag queen. Society says he should wear a tuxedo to prom but he wants to wear a dress. Finally, the Roman Baths are a natural hot springs that the Romans found and called it their own. They built a civilization around it. Now the baths are a museum that shows us how and why people traveled to the baths, how they worshiped their gods there and how they had fun.
